Ian El-Mokadem

Prior to joining Compass in May 2006, Ian was Managing Director of Onetel, the former telecoms division of Centrica.  Ian managed the launch of Centrica’s telecoms business in 2000 and it grew to be the UK’s largest fixed line service provider.  Ian led the sale of the business to the Carphone Warehouse in December 2005.

Ian joined Centrica in 1997 as Head of Gas Competition for British Gas.  He went on to be Head of Market Operations and subsequently Director of Marketing and Strategy for British Gas prior to moving into telecoms in 2000.  Ian’s early career was with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) where he worked in the strategy consulting practice.

Ian has a BSc in Economics and Statistics from London University and an MBA from INSEAD in France.
