Acting Responsibly
As part of a global foodservice company, we know that we have an enormous influence on what our customers choose to eat and drink.
The purchasing decisions we make have implications for food production, sustainability and the environment and we have obligations to our 66,000 people and the communities in which they live and work in the UK and Ireland.
We take these responsibilities very seriously and believe that we have the commitment and capabilities to make a difference to the lives of our people and society in general.
Our approach to corporate responsibility is to focus on those areas that are most relevant to our business and our people and where we can have a measurable impact. These include:
· awareness of our role in influencing nutrition, diet and
health
· being a responsible purchaser and provider of safe food
· managing carefully our impact on the environment
· investing in our role as a corporate citizen and
· being a great employer.
Much of our activity is focused through Compass in the Community (CITC).
