Community Man Raises Funds for NHS and Donates Food Hampers to Local Foodbank

News

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, local man, Gary Slater of Saltash, Cornwall has raised over £2,000 for the NHS and put together over 10 large food hampers of donated goods from colleagues and friends for the local foodbank in Torpoint, Cornwall, after running for six hours straight, covering 31 miles.

Gary, who has worked as the Captains Residence Manager for the defence food and support services business, ESS commented: “I wanted to actively get involved in supporting those in need right now. I am not normally a runner, so for me this was particularly challenging, however I am very proud of my achievement. I want to say a big thank you to all my colleagues who came out to support me throughout the day and to everyone who gave generously.”
