Compass Group UK & Ireland Executive Chef wins at British Culinary Federation awards

Compass Group UK & Ireland, the UK’s largest food and support services firm is celebrating, after one of its Executive Chefs won a prestigious award at the British Culinary Federation.

Robert Kennedy, Executive Chef at Sandhurst Military College, was recognised for being a leading chef in culinary competition and awarded the Paul Gould OBE Memorial Trophy at the 11th Annual Dinner and Awards Evening held at the Botanical Gardens, Birmingham, on Sunday, September 18.

The prestigious event celebrated the wealth of talent throughout the hospitality industry, and brought together chefs, suppliers and industry professionals from across the UK.

Robert said: “I am extremely honoured to have been recognised by the British Culinary Foundation and delighted to have won the Paul Gould OBE Memorial Trophy, this is a great achievement for myself and Compass Group UK & Ireland. The British Culinary Federation is a great body that acknowledges the talent and passion of those working in the hospitality industry.”

This achievement follows on from Robert’s recent win of the Competition Chef award at the Craft Guild of Chefs awards ceremony in June.

Robert Kennedy – Executive Chef, Sandhurst Military College
As Executive Chef of Sandhurst Military Academy, Rob Kennedy is responsible for feeding the cadets that pass through the college, as well as visitors from foreign governments and the members of the royal family who are either commander in chief or honorary figure heads at the regiment. Alongside this, Rob has been a key player in the competition arena for 16 years. Highlights include winning Olympic medals, as well as Olympic Gold in 2012 in Erfut and Culinary World Cup medals as part of the National Team. He has also played a pivotal role in supporting the Nestle Toque D’Or competition over the last three years travelling the length of the country to give advice and present masterclasses to the colleges for the regional heats.
