Teams across Compass Group UK & Ireland are celebrating after winning six awards in several categories at last night’s Contract Catering Awards.
The 11th outing of the event took place at London’s Leonardo Royal Hotel recognising the outstanding contribution to contract catering of individuals and organisations across a range of categories.
The Contract Catering awards have shone a spotlight on some of the fantastic achievements of the past year. The Compass winners were: –
- Contract Caterer of the Year – ESS
- Executive Chef of the Year – Tony Murphy - ESS
- Rising Star Award – Izabela Ginter – ESS
- Unit Chef of the Year – Raheem Morgan – Chartwells
- Education Award – Raheem Morgan – Chartwells
- Innovation Award – Harry Ridley - Compass Group UK & Ireland
It was a big night for ESS, which took home three award wins! Tony Murphy was named Executive Chef of the Year for his impressive delivery on an array of projects to enhance the workplace experience for ESS’s customers. Izabela Ginter, Sous Chef, was named winner of the Rising Star Award for her dedication to succeed, and ESS were also crowned overall Contract Caterer of the Year.
Chartwells’ Raheem Morgan, Chef Manager, scooped two accolades - the Education Award and Unit Chef of the Year. Rewarded for his incredible passion, dedication and willingness to go above and beyond. The pupils certainly love him and as a result, meal uptake has increased by 20% in the time he has been at the school he works at, as well as producing great meals, he also works hard to educate the students on the power and importance of food and nutrition.
Harry Ridley, Automation and Emerging Technology Product Manager, won the Innovation Award for helping deliver a revolutionised fan experience with the introduction of Europe’s first stadia frictionless kiosk at a Levy UK+I site. This landmark innovation enables matchday fans to experience the future of food and drink purchases, without having to pay at a till.
