ESS Support Service Worldwide (ESS) Offshore, the offshore specialists of Compass Group UK & Ireland, has secured a three-year framework agreement with COSL Drilling Europe AS (CDE) to deliver hotel and catering services on its drilling rigs.
The agreement also contains options for further work to cover CDE’s current and future operations in the UK and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea. ESS will initially deliver catering, laundry and hygiene services on the drilling rig COSL Pioneer which is due to commence UK operations this month.
An innovative and inventive food offer is situated at the core of the contract. Dishes selected by ESS’ Registered Nutritionist will be labelled as Nutritionist’s Choice to help guide customers to healthier, nutritionally high options. To keep meal times interesting and fun, ESS will hold regular theme nights from its range of global and street food concepts such as Brazilian Barbeque or Street Masala.
ESS Offshore has excellent relationships with local suppliers and will be bringing these to the fore on the COSL Pioneer. Examples of ESS’ focus on local provenance include:
- Locally caught cod or haddock from the Amity Fish Company will be served once a week
- Premium quality pork sausages exclusively made for ESS by Grant of Speyside, to be served daily
- Award winning batter and fish cakes from the Stonehaven based “Bay Fish and Chip shop
- Carrots and potatoes from Benzies of Turriff, Aberdeenshire.
