ESS win prestigious Health & Vitality Communication and Engagement Honours Award
ESS Support Services Worldwide, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, has won the prestigious Health & Vitality Communication and Engagement Honours award at the Health & Vitality Honours 2016 ceremony held in the Lords Cricket Ground, London.
The ceremony recognised excellence from companies in the foodservice supply chain, which have implemented healthy living programmes and promoted awareness amongst consumers. The Communication and Engagement honour was awarded to ESS for its innovative and holistic approach to health and wellbeing in the offshore environment.
Key in the judges’ decision-making was ESS’ strong ethics on sustainability, which is crucial for the future, and the “Nutritionists Choice" food brand. This offers a healthy meal solution throughout all elements of the food offer and was thought to be an exceptionally good idea. The company was also commended for having a real focus on the imperative communication, training and resource support for the end user.
The initiative was implemented in 2015 to both on and offshore clients and their personnel. The programme is driven by ESS’s dedicated offshore nutritionist and local Aberdeenshire suppliers, which work exclusively in partnership with ESS. It features a bespoke approach meaning it can be tailored to the requirements of the specific client, providing the consumer with the education and information that they need to make an informed choice and understand what’s in the food ESS is delivering.
Ronnie Kelman, ESS business director, said: “We are delighted to have been recognised for our Health & Wellbeing programme and our work with local suppliers. Winning this prestigious award is a fantastic achievement and reflects the hard work that our teams have undertaken to implement these initiatives for the benefit of our clients and their people working Offshore.
“Our approach is aimed at providing consumers with healthy food choices along with information and education on healthy lifestyles.”
