Helen Hutchinson, Jockey Club Catering general manager at Newmarket Racecourse, has been named as one of the most promising stars in the hospitality industry in The Caterer’s prestigious Acorn Awards.

Since their inception in 1986, the Acorn Awards, known as the 30 under 30, have sought to recognise the brightest prospects in the hospitality industry. Run in association with ACT Clean, the awards recognise the flair and passion of 30 rising stars in hospitality. Past winners represent every sector of the hospitality industry, and have been nominated by their peers for making an impression in their field.

As Jockey Club Catering general manager at Newmarket Racecourse, Helen oversees a team of 20 colleagues and up to 1,000 on event days. Previously general manager at Epsom Downs Racecourse, Helen joined Jockey Club Catering in 2010 and has continued to celebrate success throughout her career, notably driving innovation and helping to launch culinary concepts.

Helen is a key industry advocate, she has a hands on approach to recruiting and regularly mentors talent from within the Jockey Club Catering team, as well as regularly participating in Jockey Club Catering charity events.

Nick Campbell, managing director of Jockey Club Catering, said: “Helen’s love, passion and commitment to the hospitality industry shines through everything she does here at Jockey Club Catering and we are very proud of her achievement. I am so thankful to my colleagues at Jockey Club Catering who have helped, inspired and mentored me throughout my career. There are so many exciting things happening at Jockey Club Catering and I cannot wait to build upon our success.”

Jockey Club Catering is a joint venture between The Jockey Club, the largest commercial group in British racing, and Compass Group UK & Ireland.
