Delivering world-class food services to Royal Mail

Gaining Royal Mail’s stamp of approval

Eurest, our dedicated workplace division, has been awarded a prestigious new contract with one of Britain’s most established companies, Royal Mail. Eurest has delivered world-class catering solutions to Royal Mail for 22 years, and throughout this time, has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to creating tailored, flexible, and nutrition-led food services for postal keyworkers.

The strength of their existing partnership, combined with Eurest’s track record of identifying and resolving many of the key catering challenges faced by Royal Mail throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, helped Eurest to gain Royal Mail’s first-class stamp of approval.

Eurest’s new partnership will see our dedicated business and industry teams deliver a range of services, including the exceptional catering we’re known for, across almost two thirds of Royal Mail sites until 2025.

Creating the perfect package for postal keyworkers

Fuelling workforces with great-tasting, nutritionally balanced food is one of our business’ core values, and a commitment that we take seriously across each of our divisions and contracts. As part of Eurest’s partnership with Royal Mail, our culinary teams have sought dynamic new ways to energise busy employees with flavoursome food that boosts their health and wellbeing.

Responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, which highlighted a greater need for nutrient-dense food in the workplace, Eurest has created a new menu containing more than 280 healthy dishes and seven tasty hot counter concepts. Every dish has been analysed by a nutritionist and prepared with Eurest’s pledge to deliver meals with 25% fewer calories per 100g.

Sustainability is also at the forefront of the menu, which has been crafted with the promise to use 80% British produce, prioritise plant proteins, and reduce food waste. With its new menu, Eurest balances diversity, quality and nutrition for postal workers, while minimising Royal Mail’s food footprint.

Delivering incredible food in ways that make sense

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, Eurest responded quickly to deploy truly dynamic food services to the teams at Royal Mail. This innovation will remain at the heart of their food partnership, which will harness new technologies and platforms to ensure total convenience and flexibility for employees in fast-paced environments.

Eurest has introduced both cashless payment solutions and meal pre-ordering apps to enable employees to purchase food, reserve on-site seating, or click and collect dishes according to their preferences. With Eurest’s tailored platforms, employees will be able to avoid congested cafés and restaurants both within Royal Mail sites and on the high street.

Morag Freathy, the Managing Director of our B&I division, said: “We are delighted to be working with a company with such strong heritage and we are committed to delivering an equally strong service to Royal Mail. Over the past year we’ve seen huge innovation and have developed new concepts to bring to the table. COVID-19 has forced us to rethink our workplace dining offer and we look forward to bringing this to life at Royal Mail.”
