David Turner
With nearly 30 years of experience, David brings a breadth of leadership expertise from healthcare, retail, leisure, and financial services. Before joining Compass, he was Group CTO at Virgin Active. He previously served as CTO for NHS England during the pandemic, where he worked alongside dedicated teams to deliver the NHS COVID-19 app and national vaccination systems. Earlier in his career, he led major cloud and agile transformation programmes as Group CTO at William Hill.
Based in Yorkshire, David lives with his wife and their two cockapoos. With both daughters now grown, he enjoys a slightly quieter home life, staying active through Peloton workouts and long walks in the Yorkshire countryside. He’s energised by travel and meeting people from all walks of life. His favourite meal? A classic roast with Yorkshire puddings and rich onion gravy.
