The winners will be announced at an awards gala at the Hilton London Metropole on 7 November.
Commenting on his shortlisting, Albert Barbuta, Hospitality Head Chef at Restaurant Associates, said: “I’m delighted to be a finalist of the Multicultural Awards this year. It’s a great opportunity and an honour. If I win this award, I would like to take it as a chance to be an ambassador and show other people what an apprenticeship can do for you. I couldn’t be more pleased with the progress that I’ve made and the learning that I have gained from the apprenticeship.”
Junior Geyoro, Business Development Exec Chef at Chartwells, added: “I had no idea that I was going to be nominated, so it was a nice surprise. Winning would be tremendous, but just being part of the nominees is already an achievement for me.”
Jonathan Foot, Director of Skills and Early Careers, Compass Group UK & Ireland said: “I couldn’t be prouder of our incredible apprentices. These awards cover a huge range of sectors and received a record-breaking number of nominations this year, so it’s an amazing achievement for five of our apprentices to make the final.
“It’s also fantastic to have been shortlisted in two of the business categories. Our team is committed to promoting the many benefits of apprenticeships and empowering those from diverse backgrounds as part of Our Social Promise commitment, so it’s great to see this being recognised. Congratulations to all our finalists, and fingers crossed for a win on the night!”
