The addition of a 1000 apprentices will see new roles being provided across all sectors with apprenticeships being offered to Compass employees wishing to develop and progress.

The apprenticeship programme is being managed by Melanie Hayes, Resourcing and Development Director for Compass, who was recently appointed to a new Apprenticeship Delivery Board (ADB) by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills. The ADB has been tasked with advising the government on how it can hit its target of 3m apprenticeships starts by 2020.

In January 2016, Compass Group was named as a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer for the first time by the National Apprenticeship Service. The list recognises the businesses that display the highest standards of excellence in employing apprentices.

Dennis Hogan, Managing Director for Compass Group UK & Ireland, said:

“I am delighted to be announcing that we will be significantly growing the number of Compass employees joining the Compass Apprenticeship Scheme in the coming two years to 1500.

“As one of the top apprenticeship employers in the country we are extremely passionate about delivering high-quality training and learning programmes for our apprentices and we are excited about broadening our apprenticeship programme across our broad portfolio of businesses.

“We recognise the importance and value apprenticeships can bring to both the individual and also our business.”

Skills Minister Nick Boles MP said:

“Food for thought: If you have a passion for catering or want to start your career in finance, why not take up one of the many apprenticeships Compass Group has on offer.

“Apprenticeships open doors for young people around the country. That’s why I am committed to 3 million more apprenticeships by 2020.”

To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, Compass Group will be holding a number of events where its apprentices will have the opportunity to showcase their talents.
