Compass Group UK & Ireland launch new range of Personal Protective Equipment for women

Compass Group UK & Ireland, the UK’s largest food and support services company, has launched a range of industry leading personal protective equipment (PPE) specifically designed for women.

As a people-powered business, Compass launched the new line following a four-week trial to further support its diverse female workforce, from chefs to cleaners and security officers.

The range, which includes adjustable safety goggles, slip-resistant shoes, protective gloves including cut resistant gloves and a selection of high-vis jackets and trousers, supports Compass’ ‘safety first’ ethos and was created following a review of previous PPE provision and the more specific requirements of our female colleagues. 

Andy May, HSE Director at Compass Group UK & Ireland, said: “We’re committed to continually enhancing the support we provide to our colleagues in our endeavours to make their working environment comfortable and safe and the introduction of this new PPE is a great reflection of this continuing commitment. We’re really proud of the new range and have already received fantastic feedback from colleagues across the business.”

The new line of PPE has been created with the support of Compass Group UK & Ireland’s Foodbuy team and national distribution and outsourcing company, Bunzl. The launch of the new range follows on from Compass’ Women in Food initiative which aims to support and develop the role of female chefs across the business.
