Compass Healthcare Hero: Yasmin Ahmed

News

Yasmin has worked at Somerset Villa, Chase Farm as a cleaner for over five years. She works on a ward with patients suffering from mental health issues and her compassion towards these people transpires through her hard work.

She carries out her work with pride and as a result, the feedback from staff and patients at the hospital is always extremely high praise. The environment she works in has been challenging and the last few months has been an unsettling time for people living on the ward. Yasmin has embraced these changes working subtly behind the scenes to do the absolute best for those around her.

Yasmin views her workplace as a second home and that’s why she always aims to keep the environment as clean and tidy as possible.

She is a quiet and unassuming person, who goes the extra mile to get the job done. It’s this nature that puts others at ease, especially the patients she deals with and those working close to her. During the pandemic she has taken on extra work training more teammates in their cleaning duties, to deal with the enhanced procedures.

Her dedication is clear for all to see and people have an instant respect and liking for her – she is truly a Healthcare Hero.

Yasmin said: “I am coming to work to do my best - I clean like it’s my home, because it is my second home. I know each patient and I know when to give them space. I love this place and the staff I am working with.”
