ExCeL London launches new hospitality brand

ExCeL London and its official caterers Levy Restaurants UK (LRUK) have launched a new catering marque as part of their recently extended partnership and ongoing redevelopment of restaurants and outlets in the venue. Branded ‘ExCeL London Hospitality’, the partnership will deliver a modern vision of venue hospitality, putting food and drink at the heart of the visitor experience.

With hospitality at ExCeL formerly coming under Levy’s ‘Leiths’ event catering family, the new ExCeL-specific branding presents all services as fully integrated into ExCeL’s core offering. It sets ExCeL apart as offering a unique proposition in the events industry, founded on creating exciting, modern experiences that enrich the visitor day.

The ExCeL team will work with event organisers and exhibitors across the venue’s wide scope of events; from large scale exhibitions and conferences to training days and executive meetings, creating menus and experiences that enhance the visitor experience, support stakeholders and ultimately lead to a more successful event outcome.

ExCeL London Hospitality will offer far reaching food and drink services including gala dinners, bespoke event restaurants, stand catering, and retail catering both in-hall and in ExCeL’s central Boulevard.

The consumer-facing retail offering has seen large-scale developments at ExCeL over the past twelve months, with the development of new in-house brands complemented by a range of high-street names.

New food and drink concepts now open in the venue include ‘The Bridge’ table service American-style restaurant, bar and linked express ‘Burgers & Dogs’ outlet. Designed to encourage visitor dwell time, The Bridge is open for table-service breakfast and lunch, and being at the centre of the venue makes an ideal location for exhibitor parties and post-show entertainment.

ExCeL’s postcode and location in the historic Royal Docks are also showcased at ExCeL by ‘E16’, an artisan coffee shop and working bakery championing small batch artisan production and providing bread and patisseries throughout the venue.

Spring / summer 2016 will see ExCeL opening a number of new restaurants, including ‘white label’ units which can be themed and tailored to individual event audiences and a sports bar.

James Mark, Executive Director at ExCeL London, says: “The launch of the new ExCeL London Hospitality brand reflects ExCeL’s vision of food and drink as an integral element in achieving successful event outcomes. ExCeL is already the venue of choice for world leading events and by investing to create exciting new spaces and concepts we are enhancing the visitor experience and helping both event organisers and exhibitors to achieve their objectives.”

Kevin Watson, Director of Catering for ExCeL London Hospitality, adds: “Our guests take food very seriously and we have created concepts that reflect what trade and consumer guests are looking for. We have an incredibly talented team at ExCeL London who, under the expert leadership of our executive chef James Buckley, are raising the bar in terms of quality of food and service.
