Keith Prowse commits its support to the Wimbledon Foundation

News

Leading hospitality operator, Keith Prowse, the exclusive and official provider of hospitality for The Championships, Wimbledon, has announced its support for the Wimbledon Foundation, the charity of The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) and The Championships. The multi-year commitment will benefit an array of charitable and community programmes both locally and further afield.

Keith Prowse has committed to contributing £5 from each guest booking official hospitality for The Championships 2019 to the Wimbledon Foundation. The scheme was introduced to mark the new five-year contract awarded to Keith Prowse to be the exclusive official hospitality provider for The Championships from 2019 onwards.

The Wimbledon Foundation, established in 2013, helps to improve people’s lives on a local, national and international scale, its remit ranging from supporting nearby projects such as sports clubs and homeless shelters in the London Boroughs of Merton and Wandsworth, to a sport-for-development programme in India and a partnership with WaterAid in Africa and Asia. The money raised from hospitality sales will help the Wimbledon Foundation continue to fund these valuable projects over the coming years.

Andy Vinsen, MD at Keith Prowse commented: “As a business, we are committed to contributing to worthwhile community projects and, taking into consideration our long-standing association with The All England Lawn Tennis Club, we feel that an annual financial contribution to the Wimbledon Foundation is an important and meaningful step.”

Since 2013 the Wimbledon Foundation has:

  • donated more than £1.35 million to over 130 local projects;
  • introduced 14,000 local primary school children each year to tennis;
  • supported eight local charities with grants to improve health and wellbeing, totalling £150,000 per year over three years; and
  • announced a three-year partnership with WaterAid, donating £100,000 annually to help ensure better health for more than 125,000 people in Ethiopia, Malawi and Nepal.

The extended relationship between the AELTC and Keith Prowse, which dates back to 1982, will also explore new opportunities to evolve the guest experience and further enhance the premium nature of hospitality packages for The Championships.

Keith Prowse is one of the most renowned hospitality leaders in the industry and continues to commit its support to charitable pursuits.
