Levy Restaurants UK signs catering deal with Twycross Zoo

News

Levy Restaurants UK, the UK’s leading sports, leisure and hospitality company has today announced a new 10 year catering partnership with Twycross Zoo.

The Zoo welcomes over half a million visitors through its doors each year with visitors particularly attracted to the breeding groups of many endangered primate species. Twycross Zoo is a renowned primate centre based in Warwickshire and houses a wide variety of monkeys and apes, including the UK’s only group of bonobos.

In addition to primates, the zoo has over 150 species onsite, and is a leading participant in global conservation programmes breeding a wide range of endangered species, as a member of both European and international organisations.

As part of the partnership, Levy Restaurants UK will develop a range of retail catering options at the venue, drawing on their award winning creative team to design and implement a rounded and multi-tiered experience for visitors.

Additionally, the Levy Restaurants team will manage sales and marketing activity for all conferences, catering events and hospitality at the Zoo.

Jon Davies, Managing Director, leisure at Levy Restaurants UK, said: “We are delighted to welcome Twycross Zoo to our expanding leisure portfolio. We know that high quality food and drink delivers a great visitor experience. Our plans include launching a new table service bistro at the Zoo, providing a variety of fresh, cooked to order dishes for our guests. Families can enjoy precious time together sharing dishes as well as benefiting from home-cooked and nutritious kid’s meals.

“We are passionate about using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients that support local producers and offer guests signature dishes that represent the provenance of the region’s larder. By bringing together both cooked to order dining and grab and go outlets we will be able to deliver a greater choice to guests. We are looking forward to working closely with the team at Twycross Zoo to bring our ambitious catering vision to life.”

Dr Sharon Redrobe, Chief Executive Officer at Twycross Zoo, said: “As part of our £55million Masterplan to make Twycross Zoo one of the UK’s leading visitor attractions, we aim to provide the best visitor experience possible and catering is of course an important part of that. We are looking forward to working with the Levy Restaurants UK team and giving our visitors one more reason to come to the zoo.”
