Compass Group UK & Ireland is celebrating after winning the “Most Inclusive Organisation in Hospitality, Travel and Leisure” award at the Inclusion in Awards 2026 – held at London Hilton on Park Lane on 3rd of November.

Launched in 2024, the Inclusion in Awards were created to recognise the organisations, teams and individuals leading the way in building more inclusive workplaces across Hospitality, Travel, Leisure and Retail. These awards shine a light on those who go above and beyond to champion inclusion, from senior leaders and people professionals to networks, initiatives and partnerships.

Compass was awarded the ‘Most Inclusive Organisation in HTL’, which celebrates hospitality, travel and leisure businesses where inclusion is built into the way the whole organisation works. It recognises businesses that have made inclusion part of their culture, policies and day-to-day operations, and that go beyond compliance, so every employee feels valued, respected and able to thrive. Judges look for strong leadership, innovative programmes and lasting commitment that build a diverse workforce, fair opportunities and a real sense of belonging at every level. The award also considers each organisation's results on the Inclusion in Maturity Curve, setting a benchmark for inclusive practice across the sector and beyond.

Mel Aston, Compass Group UK & Ireland Inclusion & Belonging Manager commented:

“We work hard every day to ensure inclusion and belonging are at the heart of everything we do. We believe people perform at their best when they feel happy, valued and part of the team, enabling them to be themselves and thrive. Our six employee networks bring this to life perfectly. Run by colleagues for colleagues, they have a real impact, raising awareness of important issues our people face and helping to provide support and solutions where possible. Thanks to our entire Compass team for embracing and strengthening our culture”

The event followed WiHTL’s annual Inclusion Summit, where Kirsty Adams, Compass’ People Director - Talent, Talent Acquisition & Social Value took part in a panel discussion called The Youth Employment Crisis – A Moral & Economic Imperative, where the session focussed on how employers can help tackle youth unemployment.
