Compass named ‘Inclusion Maturity Curve - Stakeholders’ at WiHTL & DiR ‘Inclusion-In awards’

Compass Group UK & Ireland has been named the ‘Inclusion Maturity Curve - Stakeholders’, at the WiHTL & DiR ‘Inclusion-In awards’, held last night at London’s Hilton on Park Lane.

These Awards recognise individuals, teams and organisations that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to fostering equity, diversity and inclusion within the Hospitality, Travel, Leisure and Retail industry.

This was acknowledgment for Compass receiving accreditation from WiHTL for their Maturity Curve analysis – which is considered ‘Leading Edge’. This was introduced to measure inclusion in ED&I against a Maturity Curve framework and gives organisations a better understanding of their work in the inclusion space, progress made and enables accelerated change.

Compass' Armed Forces Committee was also highly commended for the most impactful Employee Resource group in HTL.

Mel Aston, Compass Group UK & Ireland Belonging and Inclusion Manager commented: “To receive the accreditation from WiHTL for their Maturity Curve analysis was fantastic, but then to also receive this award is a true testament to our commitment to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

A huge thank you to our amazing Employee Networks - your dedication to driving inclusion across our business is what makes achievements like this possible.”

The event followed WiHTL’s annual Inclusion Summit, which was attended by 600 delegates from across Hospitality, Travel, Leisure and Retail. The event is held to create an opportunity to share a range of powerful stories, experiences and voices of inclusion.

At the event Sophie Smith, Compass Group UK & Ireland, Chief People Officer, took part in a panel discussion called Levelling the Playing Field: Socio-economic Background and Social Mobility in Hospitality, Travel, Leisure and Retail.

Compass recently announced that since the launch of Our Social Promise in 2021, the programme has supported over 500,000 people. Building on this success, it is committed to further evolving its mission to make an even greater impact. Building on the lessons it has learnt over the past four years, the company is expanding its flagship social mobility programme with the launch of ‘Mission to a Million: Forward Together’.
