Compass Group UK & Ireland’s Healthcare team launch innovative new café

The Healthcare team at Compass Group UK & Ireland, the UK’s largest food and support services firm, has launched a unique café, with an environmental and health focus, at Chase Farm Hospital, part of the Royal Free NHS hospital trust, London.

The environmentally friendly Clock Café, built from recycled shipping containers, features a retail shop and a café. It has been designed in a “pop-up” style, having the flexibility of being able to be dismantled and moved. 

The innovative café which has been named after the Victorian clock tower based on site, is due to be demolished as the site undergoes redevelopment. Features include a natural green living wall with an integrated water delivery system, an abundance of natural light as well as internal and external seating for over 55 people.

Health and wellbeing continues to be at the forefront of the offer with the delivery of the “Whole + Sum” concept within the café. The concept provides clear clarity to the consumer to support them in making informed healthy eating choices. All dishes contain less than 500 calories with each meal supported by full nutritional analysis.

A range of hot food, salads, homemade cakes & juices, snack bars and fruit are also available on site.
The official launch of the café was held on Wednesday, September 28, where staff members dressed up as fruit and took part in a range of fun activities.

We are excited to be part of the hospital’s journey as it begins its transformation.”
