Compass Healthcare Hero: Brazil Pereira

Brazil has a reputation that precedes him in the team at Northwick Park and there is no doubt he has been one of their leading figures as a combatant of Covid-19 in the dedicated Rapid Response Team.

Early on, he was redeployed to work in one of the Covid-19 wards and was constantly praised by the Ward Managers, Clinicians and Doctors for his efforts - always going above and beyond and showing great tenacity. Not only did he raise the bar for his own work, he started to take on extra jobs and volunteered to do work that others were unable to do.

During this time, he demonstrated great empathy for patients, wanting to do all he could to help. His attitude rubbed off on teammates, who were inspired by his can-do approach. He has also been pivotal in implementing health and safety protocols and enhanced cleaning procedures, using his initiative and leadership skills to make sure the areas he worked in were cleaned to the absolute highest standard.

During the last few months, Brazil’s resolve has been nothing short of amazing.
